Hello. First things first. I’m proud to be gainfully employed by Razorfish, the world’s greatest* digital agency**. I currently serve as Chief Strategy Officer, focusing on our growth strategy, service offering development, partnerships, and acquisition opportunities. In prior roles I managed teams of talented colleagues working directly with clients; their many skills included business strategy, strategic marketing, research & insights gathering, and similarly impressive abilities. Also gourmet cooking, karaoke rapping, golfing, hang gliding, and so on.
My general professional interest is growth strategy and innovation – across products, brands, and business models. I’ve been lucky enough to work with and learn from an array of generous, forward-thinking clients in a range of industries including financial services, technology, retail, telecom, media, travel and hospitality, consumer goods, and others. I do tend to gravitate to highly disrupted industries and functions, and love working with organizations looking to reinvent themselves for the globally connected, digitally empowered future.
Prior to Razorfish, Yahoo! let me play two completely different roles: one focused on customer-centric innovation, the other on the tactics of online marketing. At Knight Ridder Digital I held a number of positions in product management, marketing and analytics while attempting to save American journalism through better online ad products.
Before these adventures, earlier wanderings took me to Harvard, where I studied Fine Arts (now known as Art History), and the Stanford GSB, where I earned my MBA. These days, when not on the road, I can be found in Austin TX…where all wanderings ultimately return me home to my wife and son.
* in my opinion anyway
** …which reminds me: all opinions and errors are entirely my own, and not necessarily those of Razorfish or anybody else.
